Natural Coloured Contact Lenses
All the natural coloured contact lenses we sell at Lulu Lenses Australia are made from silicone hydrogel.

Silicone hydrogel is a soft, pliable, naturally occurring material that absorbs and retains water the way a sponge does. Your eyes need water, the way they need oxygen, if they are to live and breathe.Β
Because all the natural colour lenses we stock are made from silicone hydrogel, they stay moist longer - allowing more oxygen to transmit into your eyes.
A natural look puts all others in the shade
When you buy a pair of colour contact lenses, you want them to look and feel as natural as you do - on a good day!
Contact lenses only look and feel natural when they are made from high quality materials. All materials that go into our lenses are FDA, TGA and CE approved.
The FDA is the US Food and Drug Administration. All contact licenses must pass their stringent tests before they can be sold in the United States.
The FDA has cleared the sale of soft, flexible plastics - the kind we use at Lulu lenses - because they allow oxygen to pass into the cornea of the eye more effectively than rigid, gas permeable eye lenses made with PMMA.Β
CE Europe certifies products, including natural coloured contact lenses, as meeting high safety, health and environmental protection standards whereas TGA certifies lenses as being safe in Australia.Β
Coloured contact lenses sold by Lulu Lenses meet all American, European and Australia standards - and so are 100% safe for use and wear.
The most advanced coloured contact lenses money can buy today
At Lulu Lenses, we only sell colour contact lenses that are hydrogel based. Hydrogel lenses have taken over from PMMA lenses which were made of hard plastic.
PMMA lenses were always difficult to use. They felt uncomfortable because they were made from hard plastic which did not allow oxygen to reach the users eyes.
Our eyes are a delicate part of the body - so for any pair of contact lenses to work - they must be gel-based so they allow oxygen to pass through.Β
Can natural coloured contact lenses correct vision as well as be aesthetically pleasing?
The answer is yes. When natural coloured contact lenses correct vision, they are referred to as prescription coloured contact lenses. Such lenses need a prescription from your eye doctor following which they will be made to order.Β
They can correct refractive disorders such as astigmatism, myopia and hyperopia.Β
But natural coloured contact lenses can also be purely cosmetic. If you do not need glasses, you can buy them off the shelf, using them to enhance your eyes matching them to the colour of your skin or even an outfit.Β
